Cypress Cares will be at the Fall Market this week with Christmas cards for our troops. Everyone is welcome to come by and sign some cards, which will be mailed off the day after Thanksgiving.
Also on the day we mail the cards, we will be shipping miniature Christmas trees, along with decorations for them, Santa caps, and New Year’s decorations. We will happily accept donations of these items from our community while at the Fall Market. Consider what your holidays would be like with no decorations, then add to that the fact that these guys are thousands of miles away from home and family.
Finally, we will have a donation site at the Chase bank location in front of HEB on THIS Saturday, October 18, from 9-3. Cypress Cares will be accpeting donations of food items, toiletries and misc items
(games, magazines, nerf balls, small toys…basically things to keep them from being bored while not on duty). These items will go into our next shipment of care packages in November.
Like I said, please consider donating to Cypress Cares. No matter how you feel about our politicians or the war effort, the troops still need and deserve the support of all of us. All in-kind donations will be given a receipt for tax purposes, so gather up your friends, family and co-workers, head to the store and buy some of those items you would miss dearly if you were spending a year in the desert…our service members will truly appreciate it!
