Women Business Owners (WBO) is an international 501c3 non-profit organization, founded in February 2004. WBO members have been providing local business groups around the country for several months now. Recently, some members of WBO have decided to start local WBO business chapters.

Tashia Flucas is currently forming WBO Chapters in the Pinole and San Francisco, California areas. “I wanted to create more networking with women within the community. WBO has a great outlook and I share a vision that WBO has of bringing women together. I will be holding 2 meetings – 1 in Pinole and 1 in San Francisco. My hope in holding these networking meetings is to build beneficial relationships and inspire women in their businesses – I always say, “the sky’s
the limit!” Tashia replied when asked why she decided to become a WBO Chapter Leader.

Tashia will be starting her meetings in June. The first meeting for Pinole is scheduled for 11:30am Wednesday, June 11 at the Pinole Library, located at 2925 Pinole Valley Road, Pinole, CA 94564. Attendees are able to purchase a light lunch during this meeting.

The first San Francisco meeting will be a breakfast meeting and is tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 20th, location and time to be announced. For more information on these meetings, please contact Tashia at 510.455.4597 or email at tashia@womenbizowners.org.

Members are allowed to attend 3 meetings free of charge. The format of the meetings will consist of refreshments, sharing of WBO’s mission and vision and how WBO can provide resources and assistance for women, a guest speaker, and then time will be allotted for networking.

Tashia goes on to explain that the WBO meetings are different than other group networking meetings in that the cost of the meeting and membership with WBO is very affordable for women in business or women just starting their businesses. WBO is building a support network for the woman and her business. They offer member 2 member benefits, a referral program and many other benefits for their members. WBO’s support is different from industry-specific support – they focus on the woman behind the business, as well as the business itself. WBO assists women to obtain resources they wouldn’t be able to obtain independently.

Tashia is the owner of tmf Accounting Services, 2643 Appian Way, Suite A-3, Pinole, CA 94564. She can be reached at phone 510.455.4597; fax 510.706.7711 or email service@tmfaccountingservices.com. Her website is http://www.tmfAccountingServices.com. Tashia started her business in September 2001, providing professional, affordable accounting services, tax preparation and payroll services for small business owners, home-based business owners,
entrepreneurs, and service-based business owners. Tmf Accounting Services’ pledge is to create an environment that will cause their clients to view them as a trusted advisor and partner. Contact Tashia to get the best in class services.

WBO President and Founder, Anna Campbell says, “We are working on providing buildings/office space for women to operate their businesses from. WBO will be able to purchase vacant buildings in targeted cities with the support of national and local contributions and donations. WBO will renovate these buildings to accommodate a minimum of 10 office spaces, 1 boardroom, and an open front area for a receptionist. (1 office space will be used for a WBO Branch Office). We will rent out each space for $200-$1,000 (depending on size of space) a month for return revenue. Each office will be equipped with internet service, phone jack, and one phone answering line.”   WBO’s motto is, “We are building businesses, one building at a time!”

Planned upcoming events for WBO include an online event, The JULY EXPO, where women will learn, shop, laugh, and network in an online conference room. Women from all walks of life will be joining together to grow their business, meet other women, and share what they have learned through networking.

This year’s event runs for three days: Thursday, July 17 – Saturday July 19, 2008. Times are: Thursday & Friday 7:30am-6pm PST/10:30am-9pm EST, Saturday 7:30am-2:30pm, PST/10:30am-5:30pm EST.

The JULY EXPO is open to anyone who would like to attend. For more information on the vendors and sponsors of the event, or to join in the festivities on July 17-19, please visit the JULY EXPO site at www.womenbizowners.org/july.

In October, WBO is holding its first offline National Business Convention in Houston, Texas. Women from around the world will be joining together for business connections, business growth, and personal connections. 500 women entrepreneurs will be sharing in the knowledge and benefits from our 23 seminar, keynote and motivational speakers.
Learn how to work effectively and efficiently so that your personal life does not suffer in the beginning years. Learn how to join together and make mastermind groups, support groups, and other related teams of women that support, guide, and stimulate each other. It is a phenomenal experience to join together and share wealth of knowledge and to know that you’re not alone.  Visit the convention site at http://www.womenbizowners.org/convention.

Most women are confident dealing with day-to-day money issues such as monthly budgets, credit card balances, and savings accounts, but tend to shy away from more complex issues, such as investments and retirement.  In fact, the Financial Literacy Foundation states that 52% of women find dealing with money stressful and overwhelming.  The pressure of women having lower incomes than men and their tendency to live longer, compounds the stress and anxiety that many women face about their money.

The good news is that this stress and worry can be eliminated by learning the truth about traditional financial planning and identifying the financial myths that destroy peace of mind. By becoming a Wealth Wise Woman © you will be able to stop worrying about your future by making prudent and wise financial choices as you journey through life’s stages.

MariJo Harding has a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) and is a national public speaker. As a Financial Advisor Coach she ministers to women by helping them create a true financial peace of mind based on scientific and empirical principles while aligning their true purpose of money with their spending and investing decisions.

You will need a strong and committed leader. Someone willing to keep the group together and growing. Someone starting the networking meeting, and someone ending the meeting.

The first step is picking a date, time, and location.

Then you need to share this information. You can do this by starting small with some local business owners you know, or just inviting the public by contacting your local radio stations and newspapers and letting them know about your new group, what you are planning on accomplishing with your group, who they can contact for more information, where, and when.

My favorite networking groups are the casual groups that get together, share information about themselves and their business (no longer than 1 minute per person), and then they go around the room and start referring.

For example… I would either be needing a specific service or product, or I know someone that does. Then I stand up and let each person know that I have either done business with them in the past week, plan to do business with them in the next week, or know someone that needs their business card or specific information.

If you are interested in starting a local group in your area, tell us about it!!! Tell us when and where and we will help promote it too!

I love the ones that meet in a hotel room (sometimes they will donate the room for the extra exposure) or a local coffee house. Those are usually free, fun, and productive!

Contact Anna Campbell for more information pertaining to starting local networking groups.
