Women Business Owners (WBO) is a national 501c3 non-profit organization, founded in February 2004 by three women with a need for practical business information and connections. Today, our members and sponsors operate WBO through their volunteer hours and generous donations. Our home office is located in Houston, Texas. Our services are available for women throughout the entire world.

WBO provides education and support for women business owners throughout the world with online educational resources, classes, workshops, mentoring, seminars, networking and referrals. By creating an online educational and networking forum, our members are able to connect with others and enrich themselves when it is practical for them.

The WBO Grant Fund program is to help raise funds for grants to be awarded to women in business. These grants will help women with educational costs to approved schools of higher learning. This can include business schools, trade schools, colleges or universities (public or private), or degree related programs.

Each year we will be sponsoring fundraisers to help women from all walks of life reach their business goals. It can be done in ways of selling products or services and direct donations, which are tax deductible.

Our current fundraiser for the period of November 25 through December 8 is with Kathy Gullstrand, an independent representative of Home and Garden Party featuring a variety of Pottery, Framed Art, Gifts, Food, Gift Cards and More. Her website can be accessed at http://www.hgpchic.com, to ensure proper credit towards WBO Grant Fund, please contact her directly at hgpchic@yahoo.com or by phone at (732) 335-8733. A 30% donation of every item sold goes to the WBO Grant Fund.

We are currently seeking businesses owners or individuals that can help us achieve this goal and help other women in business.

If your company would like to participate in WBO Grant Fund program, please contact Women Business Owners by visit their website at www.womenbizowners.org, by email info@womenbizowners.org, or by phone 713-516-1524.

Anna and I are truly stumped for our convention logo so we are coming to the experts for their assistance.

We need a logo to go with our “Free to Be Me” women business owners convention theme. This logo would need to incorporate colors of your choosing as well as attract people’s attention. Arresting is the word that comes to mind. Like the ad posted here concerning the Houston Expo Invitation

We are accepting .gif, .jpg and .eps files.

We realize the holidays are coming up so we are keeping this contest open until December 15th. We will then have voting on the best logo starting December 16th through December 31st with the winner announced on January 1st.

The winner would have their logo used, giving credit to them, on all promotional materials for our convention including the event program book.

Your logo would also be listed on the WBO Convention page as well as being posted on any member’s site as part our our advertising blitz. There are press releases to go out with this logo as well as the prospect of being known as the designer of the 1st WBO Annual Convention logo plus 10 months of free advertising between January 1st and October 12th.

Please send your designs to me at gazelle@womenbizowners.org and Anna at anna@womenbizowners.org so we can post them on the WBO site for voting. May the best and most innovative designer win!

December Theme: How do you handle current problems or situations and still keep your planning secure for 2-3 months in advance?
How do you handle the stress of running a business?
How do you maintain your inventory of products or services?
Magazine Deadline: 20th of every month

We are now accepting articles for inclusion in next month’s WBO magazine. The deadline is November 15th.

The Writers’ Web is a terrific resource for our membership… created by and provided for YOU! You are encouraged to submit articles that you have written pertaining to your area of knowledge and interest so that others may benefit from your thoughts, experiences and counsel. In fact, a new PERKS structure has been developed to encourage your continued participation in the program. Please click on PERKS to see what could be in store for you!

All articles must provide useful and high integrity information that is helpful to women in business. We accept topics related to business, marketing, integrating home and family with business, and much more relating to women in business. We ask that you provide unique, well-written, informative articles. We reserve the right to refuse any article for any reason.

To be considered an active team member of the Writers’ Web, you simply need to be a Star or Premier Member of WBO and submit one article per year. The number of additional articles you submit within the year is up to you. Of course there are great perks if you submit articles monthly!

All written content that you submit to this site must be writing that you have the legal rights to post to our site. By posting your article to our site, you are granting us Non-Exclusive Copyrights - which means you are giving us the legal right to use it, but you are NOT surrendering your right to use it elsewhere. WBO does not own or retain any rights to the articles written… we are merely privileged to read and grow from them.

The number of articles to be written is decided by each article writer herself. We encourage members of the Writers’ Web to submit at least one (1) article a month, however we do understand the flow of creativity is different for everyone and we do not want this to become a chore. Therefore the final decision will be yours.

Each article must be submitted to Felicia Slattery either through the Article Submit form or via email at Email Form. She will read and edit the articles where necessary. The article, if edited, will be emailed back to the writer for approval. Upon acceptance of the article by Felicia Slattery, the writer will receive credit for the article.
